If you've never hired a skip before, there may be a few questions you have. We have tried to answer some of the more frequently asked below. If you still require further assistance, please feel free to contact our office.

What areas will Hunt Skips deliver skips to?
We cover all London N and NW postal codes and surrounding areas including the boroughs of Enfield, Barnet, Haringey, Hackney & Waltham Forest.

If in doubt, please give us a call on 020 8807 1158

Will I need permission from the Council or Local Authority to hire a skip?
You will need a skip licence if the skip is going to be placed anywhere on the public highway. In most cases we can arrange the licence on your behalf.

How much will the licence cost?
Licence charges do vary between Local Authorities and Councils but all charges will be detailed and explained when you place your order.

What if I can't get a skip licence?
In the rare event that you are refused a licence, we are often able to offer alternative solutions such as a wait and load service. Please CONTACT us for further details.

How do I order a skip?
Please call us direct on 020 8807 1158 to arrange for the delivery, collection or exchange of a skip.

How do I pay for the skip?
You can pay by cash, by credit or debit card or by cheque. We can take your card details when you place your order or, should you prefer, you can pay the delivery vehicle driver by cash or by cheque when the skip is delivered.

We accept all of the major cards.
If you are a business user and are likely to require skips on a regular basis then why not apply for an account with Hunt Skips Ltd?

What size of skip should I order?
We offer skips in a range of sizes to suit all requirements. In general though, we would advise that you think carefully about the size of the project you are undertaking and how much waste there will be that needs to be disposed of. It will always be cheaper to hire one large skip rather than end up having to hire two smaller ones.

What access will you need to deliver the skip?
Please ensure that our delivery vehicle is able to reach your location and that there is a clear space available for us to place the skip. As a rough guide, one car space is normally enough room but do please contact us if you are in any doubt and we will be happy to give you the approximate dimensions required for the size of skip you wish to order.

How long can I keep the skip for once it has been delivered?
Skip hire is for 7 days.

How much notice do you need?
In most cases 24 hours notice is required as we are dependant upon the licence being issued by the relevant council or local authority.

What is classed as hazardous waste?
Hazardous waste that cannot be put into any of our skips or containers without prior notification includes asbestos, tyres, fridges, freezers, batteries, televisions, computer monitors, gas cylinders and fluorescent lighting tubes. Please call us if you are in any doubt at all about any other materials.

What happens to the waste after it has been collected?
After collection all skips are taken to Hunts Recycling transfer station for recycling. Hunt Skips Ltd is committed to minimising the amount of waste that goes to landfill so anything that can be recovered will be processed for recycling.

Please note the following:-
Skips to be level loaded • No Fires • Hire is for 7 days only • The Hirer is responsible for siting skip • No hazardous waste • Customer to ensure that the skip conditions are adhered to and the skip is collected before permit expires

Customers ordering our vehicles off the public road do so at their own risk and take full responsibility. We do not accept any responsibility for any damage caused by our vehicles.
